There are many dance schools that have been in Reading for more than 50 years, but since 2000 more and more have been springing up. "People travel from Newbury, Oxford and Windsor to visit my shop.” “I have quite a few men come in as well, which is nice because there are always more girls in the industry. "The main market is five to 20-year-olds, but we do get a lot of older women who love ballroom and line dancing. “We have all ages from kids as young as two and a half right up to 90-year-olds. Staff in other dancewear shops have been trained but they never danced, so they can’t offer the same expert advice I can.” "I know what they need because I have been there. Being a dancer myself means I can give my customers advice. “I saw it as a great business opportunity. So when I returned after finishing at The BRIT School, I did some research and decided to set up my own shop. “Reading’s dance scene is getting really big, but there has been no dancewear shop to feed that market. “I have been dancing and performing in Reading since I was three years old, but my mum always had trouble finding the right outfits for me. She has danced in Reading’s dance schools from a very young age, as well as being a member of Starmaker Theatre Company for nine years.
